Basalt fiber tape woven from a dark and shiny fiber derived from volcanic rock. spun into fibers and assembled as yarns that are expertly woven into high temperature basalt tape offers resistance to operating temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C) and peak temperatures up to 2000°F (1095°C), available in plain and twill weaves, take advantage of the strength, flexibility, and excellent thermal properties inherent to basalt fibers.

Basalt fiber tape is ideal for selective reinforcement of laminates, sleeve or pipe winding, seams, and molding, when applied as an exhaust heat wrap, this tape provides thermal insulation that increases the efficiency of exhaust systems and reduces radiant heat to surrounding components and passengers of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

Basalt tapes can be coated in vermiculite or treated with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to aid in installation.
